If you own your own business, you know sometimes it can be difficult to promote yourself. It can be hard to tell people how great you are. You feel like you’re being arrogant or self-serving. One fun way to get around this is with recording customer testimonials. It’s one thing for you to say you’re great; it’s entirely different if someone else does. And there are a few ways to accomplish this.

Talk to your clients. Ask them to record a short message that you can post on your website; either they can record it and send it to you, or you can record it for them. I’ve found that most people are willing to do it, ofttimes they’re just not sure what to say. So it’s OK to help them out. Write a short letter that they can read on camera. You don’t have to reveal that you wrote it. Even though you may have, your client isn’t going to say something they don’t mean. They just may have a hard time pulling their thoughts together. And technically you are asking for a favor, so this can really help them out.

Simply Get Started

This can be a very simple place to start to get video on your site. Get together with your favorite client. Together, come up with about a 1 minute statement they can say about your product or service; preferably have them memorize it. Be sure they open by stating their name, company, and the service you did. Post that on your website or Youtube channel then embedded on your website, and you’re done.

Your credibility is greatly enhanced by having your clients speak directly to your website visitors. And your site looks more professional just by having video on it.
